North York Rehabilitation Centre (NYRC) works with Insurance companies, the WSIB, government agencies, lawyers, employees and health care professionals to assess and treat physical disabilities neuromusculoskeletal conditions and psychological / psychiatric conditions, resulting from automobile accidents, industrial accidents and sports-related injuries.

The centre uses a multidisciplinary approach with professionals in general medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, chiropractic, physiotherapy, psychology, psychiatric, massage-therapy, physiotherapy, kinesiology and occupational therapy. This multidisciplinary healthcare team has expertise in sports medicine, rehabilitation sciences, psychological, chiropractic, chronic pain management, and a variety of other areas.

We have been successfully providing assessment services to the auto insurance industry for over 15 years. We have an extensive list of knowledgeable, experienced, and fair assessors. It is important to our company that our assessments are unbiased, comprehensive, timely, and cost-effective. It is fundamental to our company that we maintain integrity, credibility and high standards in all our dealings. We have an up-to-date and extensive assessor network covering all regions of Ontario.

Our company has a special focus in assessing acquired brain injuries of all severities (mild, moderate and severe), complex orthopaedic injuries, neurological disorders, Catastrophic Determination and province-wide attendant care needs (including the geriatric and paediatric population).

We are up-to-date with changes to the existing auto insurance regulations/guidelines as outlined in the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule.

NYRC specializes in the active rehabilitation treatment of accident-related injuries and offers progressive rehabilitation programs that focus on patient education, stretching, strengthening, endurance and return to activities of daily living and work function. Each program is supervised by a health care professional and is individually designed for the insured to minimize the length of disability. A key feature is our RAPID Re-employment Program that combines work simulation, modified work programs and an on-site work hardening program. The RAPID Re-employment Program emphasizes safety, practically and cost effectiveness. We also liaise with employers to determine what accommodations are available for their employees. This helps to facilitate return to work strategies.
