This webinar explores the growing impact of mental health claims, with WSBC and WSIB data on claim volumes and time away from work.
We’ll review current research on effective treatment approaches, introduce CBT and Work-Focused CBT, and highlight program elements that support sustainable return-to-work (RTW).
Topics include:
- GRTW planning- Problem-solving strategies for perceived barriers (e.g., catastrophization, perceived injustice, cognitive deficits)
- Addressing labor relations challenges
- Case studies and other evidence-based therapies

About the Presenter
Brian O’Rourke is an experienced Occupational Therapist and the founder of Logic Rehab. With over a decade of practice across hospital, community, and private rehabilitation settings, Brian specializes in functional capacity evaluations, cognitive rehabilitation, mental health support, and return-to-work planning.
He is a Certified Work Capacity Evaluator and EPIC Lift Evaluator through the Matheson Institute, a Certified Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP) Provider, and has been qualified by the BC Supreme Court as an expert witness in functional capacity and cost of future care assessments.
Brian’s work spans brain injury rehabilitation, ergonomic and workplace assessments, and evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Work-Focused CBT. He is a trusted provider within networks including ICBC, WorkSafeBC, and Veterans Affairs, and is committed to helping individuals achieve sustainable recovery and successful return-to-work outcomes.
